Some Baking & Some Making

Let’s bake some treats and also make (with no baking) some delicious snacks. Campers will enjoy crafting several recipes and learning kitchen tips throughout the week. Campers will leave camp with a recipe book to allow them to recreate their tasty plates at home with family and friends! Come “bake and make” with us this summer!

Around The World

Calling all world explorers and travel enthusiasts! Jump in for a journey around the world to France, China, Egypt, South Africa, Spain, Brazil, New Zealand, Mexico, and Italy. Girls will learn about each of these countries through stories, cuisine, crafts, and games. Say “Adios and Au revoir” to Houston for a few days and join us on a multicultural adventure.

Theater Camp

Lights, camera, action! Girls who join us for Theater Camp will enjoy with a mix of fun improv games that encourage creativity as well as participate in rehearsals for a short play which will be performed at the end of the week. Campers can look forward to a week that will challenge memorization skills, improve confidence in public speaking, and foster imagination — come and join the fun!

Games Galore

Get ready for a week of nonstop fun! We will play a variety of games, both old classics and new favorites, such as Go Fish, Memory, Jacks, String Games, and Pick-up-sticks. Campers will also prepare for a rally on the last day of camp. Who will be the champion of “Let’s Play!”

Budding Scientists

Spark curiosity and wonder with a week filled with activities designed to investigate and appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world around us. Campers will enjoy an overview of several branches of scientific study, including chemistry, zoology, physics, astronomy, and geology. Girls can expect a few surprise animal guests during the week, experiments, competitions, and plenty of time outside in nature!

Volleyball Camp

Planning to play volleyball this upcoming season? During this week-long camp, girls will sharpen their skills with various drills, games, and scrimmages. Let’s spend the week bumping, setting, and spiking our way into a strong fall volleyball season!

Get Crafty

Craft and snack your way through a week of the summer! Girls will create a new craft to take home each day. Additionally, campers will participate in creating a custom snack related to the craft of the day. Beginning and experienced crafters (and snackers!) welcome!

Irish Dance

Join us for a week of Irish dance, music, and culture! Campers will learn the fundamental skills needed for Irish dance, several choreographed dances, and enjoy plenty of fun along the way. This camp will also include immersion in Irish culture, including art, music, cuisine, and history. Skip and leap your way across the pond to the Emerald Isle for a week of all things Irish!

Marvelous Myths & Legends

Let your imagination run wild through the magical worlds of dragons, unicorns, fairies, and all manner of mythical beasts. Campers will create flowerpot fairy gardens, read myths and legends, and engage their creativity through storytelling and writing. Perfect for girls who love fantasy and fairytales!

Baking Camp

Come and bake with our very own Mrs. Annamarie Omanga, baker extraordinaire! Campers will enjoy crafting several delicious treats over the course of the week and learn many skills to improve their baking. It will be a piece (or two!) of cake! A Magnolia Camp apron is included.

Bookworms at Magnolia

All things books, reading, and literature! Campers will have time for leisure reading, enjoy read-aloud, and make several different types of bookmarks. Additionally, girls will have time to read assigned summer reading and receive assistance with completing summer reading assignments. (Parents — it’s wonderful to get those assignments taken care of well before the start of the school year!) A field trip to a local library is also a possibility, pending the availability of library facilities in July. Come and learn, as Jane Austen said, that “there is no enjoyment like reading!”

Ballet Camp

Ballet camp is a week-long summer camp to rising 2nd through 5th graders to teach girls the principles of French Ballet in preparation for a performance at the end of the week. Girls will learn gracefulness through simple, yet key positions and steps. Ballet history will be briefly covered, along with daily virtue lessons.

What to bring: A t-shirt will be provided. Please bring a leotard, tights, and soft-soled ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled up away from the face, preferably in a bun.

ALMOST FULL - REGISTER

Pioneering Camp

At Pioneering Camp, girls will learn about America’s pioneers and journey through history back to a simpler time. Girls will learn stories about pioneer families in America and participate in making hand dipped candles, pioneer-inspired toys and crafts such as rag dolls, corn husk flowers, and stenciling. They will learn about how pioneers made hooked rugs, what day-to-day chores were like, and how they had fun through square dancing and games. Each girl will receive a beautiful bonnet, help decorate her own apron, and learn how to make old fashioned ice cream with pound cake at the end of the week! While not required, pioneering costumes are welcome.
